Every Single Day Counts

Cycling

Being Ultra Fit Over 50 is all about consistency.  Remember: every single day counts.

So count on working out every single day.

And, as the first month or two passes, you might feel ready to graduate from “Getting Started,” to our next frontier — Feeling Good.

We began with a daily 30-minute workout, so let’s get a bit more focused.  Ready? Let’s Change Your Life!  Here’s the plan, with one big difference — divide your workouts into 2 or even 3 separate “events” at different times of the day.

That makes it easier, without ever getting over-extended.  In short, it keeps you fresh for the entire day — and hungry for more.  Spoiler alert: This may seem extreme, but it’s actually a much easier way to get very, very fit.

Yoga at 10,000 feet
The world is our gym. Yoga at 10,000 feet. The form could be better, but not the location. Here, altitude = attitude.

Session I (early in the morning)

  • A 20 minute, two-mile run at a gentle pace of 9-10 minutes per mile.  You can do it!
  • 10 minutes of weight lifting
  • Cool down.

Session II (at lunch, early afternoon or before 6:00 pm)

  • 12 minutes of yoga
  • 1 minute plank (yes!)
  • 7 minutes of meditation (cool down)

Great!  Now you’re up to 50 minutes of focused Ultra Fit Over 50 exercise and wellness each day.
